He combined what he knew about technology and healthcare to first start his career.  He worked at New York Presbyterian Hospital as a Recreation Therapist and then also a consultant therapist with the New York City chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.  Schaal educated patients, physicians, and healthcare workers about the best practices and methods to increase quality of life for those with physical and mental rehabilitation needs.  Patrick Schaal joined Publicis Selling Solutions as a Sales Representative.  He sold Rozerem and Amitiza, pharmaceutical drugs and ended up winning a Presidents Club Award for landing in the company's top 10% in performance and sales goal attainment.  He ended up winning this Award two more times.

After new experiences in his career, he found himself gradually switching gears and began working as an Account Manager in the Medical Devices Division at Wright Medical Technology, Inc.  Combining his knowledge of healthcare, education, and sales, Schaal was about to educate medical practitioners on the application of instruments for joins and upper extremities. He sometimes would oversee operating room procedures and even provided support for the nurses and physicians. He increased his sales territory by connecting hospital personnel with distributors and really helped his company expand. Patrick Schaal found himself at a new position with IT provider, EMC as a Healthcare Account Executive.  In this role he handled all the facets of sales in the life sciences and healthcare businesses.

Patrick Schaal completed an online course that specialized in educating IT professionals within the healthcare industry and then began working with CA Technologies as a Healthcare Strategist. He consulted with customers from the east coast to the midwest about the most timely and costly efficient IT management solutions and quickly found himself in the role of Enterprise Account Manager of IT.  Eventually Patrick Schaal found himself moving to Chicago to work as a Regional Sales Manager for a company called Software AG, a global leader in business processes, integration, and big data.  The company provides software and solutions to help organizations learn more about their business.  His current goals include helping his customers gain visibility, control and agility across their global supply chain.
